The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. We love the early Rolex Datejust for its simplicity and its classic sophistication. This specific 1960 Datejust Ref.1601 in 18k YG is in exceptional condition, retaining its original no-lume champagne SWISS only "Pie Pan" dial which is sought after among collectors. The case is believed to be unpolished and the gold rivet bracelet completes the watch's look. CASE & BRACELET

The lightly polished 18k yellow gold case is in excellent condition, showing symmetrical and thick lugs that exhibit light signs of honest use. The 18k yellow gold fluted bezel is very well preserved, showing no signs of over-polished or excessive wear. The acrylic crystal does show light signs of use. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.

DIAL & HANDS

The stunning non-luminous champagne "pie pan" dial has a charming vintage appeal and a unique aesthetic with a consistent bubble patina that is even throughout. The dial shows no scratches or major damage. The original solid yellow gold alpha hands are in excellent condition with only minor oxidation visible. The metallic gold date wheel is correct with open 6's and 9's.
