The Rolex Datejust is one of the most iconic and most beloved Rolex watches ever made, even though the Datejust was launched in 1945 it has remained a timeless classic and is instantly recognizable as an item of refined quality and functional design. The Datejust can be worn just as easily with a suit as it can be with jeans and a tee-shirt.
One of the largest evolutions for the Rolex Datejust model lineup was at the end of the 1970s with the introduction of the first "flat dial" Datejust. The white gold bezel was upgraded from 14k to 18k white gold and the movement was vastly upgraded to the Rolex cal. 3035 quick-set movement. These Datejust variations are often referred to as "transitional" as they still feature the more classic acrylic crystals and tritium lume whilst housing many advancements.

CASE & BRACELET
The excellent case remains unpolished, displaying crisp factory finishing and dimensions throughout with light signs of wear throughout. The 18k white gold fluted bezel is unpolished as well, displaying minimal signs of use. The case back retains its original factory finishing. The watch will come supplied on a 2pc handmade leather strap.
DIAL & HANDS
The silver sunburst dial is in exceptional condition, showing no blemishes or age to the dial. The tritium lume plots have taken on a very desirable vibrant orange coloration, under U.V. light inspection the lume plots exhibit no degradation whatsoever. The original tritium hands match the dial perfectly and display no degradation under U.V. light inspection. The white date wheel is original with open 6's and 9's.
